I've blogged a few images from this wedding before, but I thought I'd post a selection from the whole day, as seen in my Featured Weddings section. If you've read the blog posts, you'll know this was an eventful wedding. It was on New Year's Eve, with Nicola preparing at her flat in Dalston, East London, and then travelling by London Taxi to Christ Church in Mayfair. After the 1:30pm wedding, the guests were due to travel in a London double decker bus to the reception venue at The Crypt on the Green in Islington.
Disaster struck in the morning, when phone calls revealed that Joel had been struck down by the norovirus bug that had swept through his New Zealand family the previous week. He was pretty ill, and getting worse by the sounds of it. As the morning progressed, the atmosphere became pretty tense, until the decision was made to postpone the ceremony until 4pm to give Joel a chance to respond to some pretty serious anti sickness medicine. Fortunately all other suppliers, as well as the vicar were able to accommodate, an amazing feat as it was New Year's Eve. But it meant almost the entire day would be photographed in the dark.
Once the bride arrived at the church, and the shortened ceremony passed off without Joel needing the sick bowl besides him, a fabulous day was had, with Joel looking more and more human as 2013 approached. Predictably though, after returning from their ski honeymoon, I learnt that once Joel returned to good health, Nicola succumbed to the same virus (see if you can spot in which image this might have occurred!).
This is 65 images from the 300 delivered to the clients.
