Susannah and James had planned a beautiful London wedding for the weekend after Valentines Day. I started by photographing the bride's preparations at the wonderfully luxurious St. Pancras Renaissance Hotel where she was joined by her three bridesmaids. The window light in her hotel room allowed me to take some beautiful classic natural light portraits before leaving to meet up with James at Islington Town Hall.
It was to be the final wedding of the day at the Town Hall, so there was no rush to get all the guests inside, and that gave me a little more time to capture some candid pictures of both sides of the family and the guests. The council chamber, with it's impressive domed ceiling, soon filled up, and the groom couldn't resist a backwards glance as Susannah walked in before the ceremony.
After the ceremony, a few quick family photos on the steps outside, and then we had a little time to shoot some bridal portraits using the stunning architecture of the listed building. Then the first taxi ride as man and wife took the newly weds to the final part of the day, the meal and party at 06 St. Chads Place. I stayed to photograph the speeches, and the start of the party, and left as the DJ was getting the evening guests partying.
