Denton Hall, nestled in the hills near Ilkley in Yorkshire, is a fabulous venue for a wedding, and I was thrilled when Claire and Alex asked me to be their wedding photographer. Claire had seen my wedding photography as she works with Nicola, whose wedding to Joel I photographed on New Year's Eve.
The day began with the preparations, and as both Claire and Alex were staying at Denton Hall, I had the luxury of being able to photograph both sides of the wedding preparations. A special request by Claire for me to photograph her Christian Louboutin shoes is the subject of this separate blog post. Guests assembled, Claire and the bridesmaids were escorted into the ceremony room by her Father. The ceremony paid tribute to both Christian and Jewish religions, starting with the civil ceremony.
The fair weather and good light held for some group photos and portraits of the newly weds after the ceremony, before everyone headed back into the Hall for the wedding breakfast. The speeches at the end of the meal were preceded by a novel competition where each table was given some plasticine and the challenge of building Alex and Claire a new home. As Alex is an architect, and half the room seemed to be architects, the competition was fierce, but the winner looked worthy of housing at least Morph, if not Alex and Claire.
The fabulous Sally Army kicked off the evening party with the First Dance, and by the time my coverage came to an end, Denton Hall was in full swing.
If you were a guest at this wedding and would like to see some more pictures, ask Claire and Alex for the password, and head over to this gallery.
