Documentary Wedding Photography - The Groom's Preparations

By Paul Rogers

Wedding Photographer London - the Groom's preparations with his Best Man and Groomsmen

I often begin my wedding coverage by photographing the bridal preparations. This makes a great start to the images, and sets the scene nicely leading up to the ceremony. I mostly concentrate on photographing the bride getting ready, but often it's possible to photograph the groom for a few minutes as well. Of course this adds to the whole story telling aspect of the day, and as long as the logistics work out it's a good way of beginning the story of the wedding day.

There's usually a touching moment or two with the groom and his best man - both are sometimes a little nervous at this stage in the day. And when all of the groomsmen, including the Ushers, and sometimes the grooms father are together, it can make for a great set of images to complement the brides preparation.

Here are a selection of some great moments taken during the hour before the ceremony. Here you can see more blog posts about how I cover a wedding day, and here is a link to my latest weddings. If you're planning a wedding and like the look of this kind of natural photography, please get in touch to check my availability for your day, and to receive full pricing information.

This shoot is totally different than your previous shoots or I should say Groom was given more priority than bride. But that made this shoot different as we usually give our more time to bridal shoot than a groom shoot.
